TN Americas, a subsidiary of Orano, is seeking an NDE Tech I-II to support the Quality Control/NDE work performed in its Kernersville, NC fabrication facility.  This role is key in Orano’s fabrication of storage and transportation packages for nuclear materials projects.

 

The NDE Tech will perform a variety of quality inspections and NDE tasks including but not limited to:

  • In-process NDE including visual examination (VT), penetrant examination (PT), bubble leak examination (BT), and ultrasonic thickness (UTT).
  • Completing documentation accurately and effectively.
  • In-process mechanical inspections, including dimensional and testing activities.
  • Interface with customer oversight representatives.
  • Support manufacturing/production schedules.
  • Assist supervisor with other duties.

Skills and Qualifications (internal)

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this   opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

  • Blueprint reading, weld symbol interpretation, basic metrology inspections, material traceability, shop safety.
  • Interpreting blueprints and welding symbols working with travelers and routers
  • Communicate inspection results to applicable parties.
  • Ability to perform required activities, such as analyzing statements, making presentations, etc.
  • Perform and evaluate VT, PT, MT, BT and/or UTT examinations, completing the appropriate documentation, perform basic dimensional and mechanical inspections.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, stoop, remain standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate with customer oversight representatives.
  • Ability to use basic mechanical measuring devices such as dial calipers and micrometers.
