What you’ll accomplish:
·         Provide engineering expertise, oversight, coaching and guidance to ensure compliance with industry codes, regulations, standards, and good practices
·         Provide project engineering support and execute small to medium sized, multidiscipline projects from conception to completion
·         Identify requirements and prepare detailed designs for a wide variety of projects, repairs, and upgrades
·         Understand and administer management of change (MOC) to facility changes
·         Support formal risk assessment of new designs
·         Collaborate with tradespeople and operators to help propel and implement standards and improvements to the milling process and infrastructure
·         Identify opportunities for improvement and develop project proposals for budget consideration
·         Work with other disciplines, subject matter experts and operational personnel to solve process problems and ensure quality objectives, schedules and budgets are maintained
·         Recommend and implement department engineering processes and procedures

 

Work Location & Schedule: 
·         McClean Lake mine site
·         14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
·         Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required

Skills and Qualifications (internal)

What we’re seeking:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering from a recognized university. Technologists with applicable experience will be considered
· If an engineer, must be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training in Saskatchewan (APEGS)
· Preference given to those with experience working full-time at an industrial operating facility
· Experience working within MOC programs would be considered an asset
· Experience with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) considered an asset
· Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer or Improvement/Project Engineer considered an asset
· Experience working within mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, and industrial water treatment is considered an asset
· Experience working with atmospheric tanks, low pressure tanks, pumps, pressure vessels, and process piping is considered an asset
· Working knowledge of SAP considered an asset
· Knowledge of codes, standards and best engineering practices as applied to mining and milling applications is considered an asset
· Effective planning and organizational skills
· Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with peers, coworkers, contractors and consultants
· Enjoys problem solving and continuous improvement
