Job description (internal)
Responsibilities include:
· Assists the Environment Technicians as required, including but not limited to;
· Performing daily inspections & monitoring
· Groundwater sampling
· Surface water sampling
· Effluent sampling
· High volume air sampler operation
· Potable water monitoring
· Sample preparation and shipping
· Shipping material for recycling
· Equipment maintenance and calibration
· Data entry
· Waste management (including hazardous materials)
· Comply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures
· Embrace and support Operational Excellence efforts and OE Culture
· Promote and adhere to Orano Canada’s values: Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Respect and People Development, Cohesion and Team Spirit, and Exemplarity, Integrity, Responsibility
Work Location & Schedule:
· McClean Lake
· 14 day in/ 14 day out rotating schedule
· Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required
Skills and Qualifications (internal)
Skills and Qualifications for the position include:
· Currently enrolled in post-secondary education with a focus on environmental science or related field
· Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
· Able to work in a strong team environment and be able to demonstrate initiative
· Show attention to detail
Efforts/Demands of the Position:
· Use of all-terrain vehicles and boats – must pass certification courses on site
· Outdoor work in all weather conditions
· Driving pick-up trucks – Class 5 drivers licence is required
