Under broad supervision the Licensing Engineer supports activities with the NRC in all matters related to licensing, regulatory oversight functions, regulatory and environmental compliance, facility change process, and commitment management.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Interface with the NRC during the licensing phase for new facilities.
  • Interface with State and Local Agencies for environmental permitting.
  • Works with the leadership team to develop licensing and environmental compliance positions and strategies.
  • Prepares and/or verifies the preparation and submits the license application of the facility to NRC.
  • Serves as liaison to outside organizations and NRC inspectors on licensing matters and environmental compliance.
  • Supports correspondence to and from NRC regarding licensing issues.
  • Supports periodic revision process for the License Application to incorporate responses to NRC Requests for Additional Information (RAIs) and design changes.
  • Prepares licensing procedures, documents, regulatory interpretations, and reports to management.
  • Provides assistance and direction to support Licensing subcontractors.
  • Develops Licensing input to the Integrated Schedule.

 

Please Note: The provided salary information is a guideline. Your offered salary is based upon experience, qualifications, geographic location, as well as market and business considerations.

Salary range annually: $100-130k

Skills and Qualifications (internal)

 

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this   opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher-level position.

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Broad in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures associated with Nuclear Licensing including interpretation of requirements and a demonstrated ability to identify and resolve licensing issues.
  • Knowledge of requirements for new plants and strategies with respect to those requirements (i.e. design issues, scheduling, etc.) and proven ability to bring successful approval of NRC submittals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including strong technical presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of internal and external staff and management.
