Under general supervision, the Quality Assurance Manager directly supports the business line and is responsible for the development of the project Quality Assurance Program Description and associate Quality Assurance policies and processes.
Objectives:
1. Develops a full scope 10CFR70 QA program.
2. Develops processes, work control procedures and documentation.
3. Reviews documents, prepares checklists, conducts assessment interviews, and prepares assessment reports.
4. Ensures corrective action issues are identified and documented, conducts ‘root cause’ or ‘apparent cause’ analyses; verifies that corrective and preventive actions are effective and documented in the correct action program.
5. Reviews procedures to comply with ISO, ASME, ANSI, and NRC standards and other national/international regulations.
6. Maintains awareness and comprehension of NRC or other pertinent national and international regulations, codes, and standards.
7. Maintains awareness and comprehension of company and industry engineering processes, computer codes, and standards.
8. Develops and implements nuclear and non-nuclear QA procedures to be followed for design, procurement, construction and operation of materials and processes.
9. Reviews QA specifications, test reports, and other documentation to ensure safety and QA requirements are met.
10. Inspects and reviews contractors’ and vendors’ work for compliance with QA standards.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher-level position.
BS in Engineering or other technical field, plus 7-10 years related experience.
An advanced degree (MS or MBA) may substitute for 1-2 years and (PhD) may substitute for 2-3 years of related work experience.
In applicable states a PE license will be accepted in lieu of a 4-year engineering degree.
Differentiating Qualifications:
Nuclear quality assurance background and experience working with NRC.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of nuclear safety and quality standards.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering standards, techniques, and criteria.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
- Ability to maintain and develop strong interpersonal relationships.
